“People misinterpret my passion for anger”

6 03 2011

Charlie Sheen was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.  He never had to worry about anything or want for anything.  He was given free reign at birth to do whatever he pleased.  Today, he blames his father (who basically gave him that silver spoon and freedom) for his wreck of a life.  Is that wrong? In some ways, not so much.  If you have lived your entire life doing as you please, no matter how bad it may be, and not suffered any real consequences then why not? Sure, this path of destruction began with the freedom of being a rich, spoiled, Hollywood son but in his adult life is his father really still to blame? Well, being so spoiled in his youth was the groundwork for not having to mature and deal with reality but how has he evaded reality in his adult life? He has done things many common men would still be sitting in a jail cell over, yet Charlie Sheen has never had to do so.  Our legal system has continued to polish the silver spoon forever planted in his mouth by continuing to allow him to avoid the consequences of his actions simply because he’s a rich celebrity who can afford to buy his way out of any situation he may find himself in.  His only real consequences have been that he is under the media microscope.  Is he crazy? Maybe not.  If I had such a silver spoon in my mouth and a microscope over my actions, perhaps I too would be beyond obnoxious.  It only seems logical.  Why are we so shocked? I’m not.  I love it.  I think he’s spitting in the faces of all the fools who enabled him.  He really is winning… at least for now.  Even though there are no legal consequences for his actions that we’ve really seen, I do believe there will be some health issues in his future.  There probably already are and we just don’t know it yet.  But, while we all sit back and enjoy the showing of Charlie’s melt down  there are bigger questions left unanswered.

For instance, why is this man’s moronic behavior headline news when so many other things are going on in this world that are far more worthy of our attention? Is this part of the media’s game as they work closely with our favorite Uncle Sam to distract us from real news?  Is Charlie Sheen’s decline really more important to our daily lives than the unraveling of the middle east, the raping of the middle class American or the push to continually feed racism? Is Charlie Sheen an optimal candidate for the destruction of his name because he was once on the front lines fighting against our government with his support of the 911 conspiracy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyKR2-A0KPU

Granted, the government didn’t drive him to the ultimate insanity that we are eating up daily but in all seriousness, he’s 1 in a million… a million egotistical addicts who think they are winning.  He’s really not that different than anyone else.  He got paid over a million per episode of “Two & ½ Men”.  Nearly 200 episodes have aired in 7 years.  That’s a butt load of cash.  Do you really think you’d be the same person you are today if you had that kind of cash? Seriously? Ok, well you can lie to me if you want but don’t lie to yourself.  Personally, I have a bit of a demanding nature and if I was worth over 200 million I think I’d be a raging bitch.  I probably wouldn’t do any of the hard drugs but I’d try like hell to keep up with my new friends in the Hollywood scene.  I guess I’d be drinking a lot of Starbucks Double Shots to stay up, maybe shooting up some B12 and such.  I’d be the healthy freak.  I can’t deny that if I got interviewed I wouldn’t go out on a limb and say some crazy shit like “I’m high on Susan Monti” because…well, frankly I would be.  I always like to joke and be sarcastic though, and having the world as my audience would probably fuel my fire beyond description.  Being obnoxious is fun, but us regular folks can’t get away with it the way a celebrity can.  Money really is a God.  With money comes freedom, power, immediate gratification, and so many things us regular folks can’t acquire.  I’m sure having millions upon millions of dollars is quite the high in itself and spending it any way you like is probably pretty addictive.

I’m only human.  I’m enjoying the Charlie Sheen show just as much as everyone else.  I’m in no position to judge anyone, especially if I’ve never been ‘in their shoes’.  I can say, in my current pair of shoes, what I’d do if I were worth millions and it would be sharing with everyone I love, traveling, raising awareness on the causes that matter most to me and donating to them, and more of that kind of stuff.  And, of course, having a good time all the time.  I can also honestly say, I’ve never wanted to be a celebrity.  Truly.  Now, of course I’d like to be rich but there’s only so much money you can spend in a lifetime and even though it can buy a lot of fabulous stuff, it can never buy true love.  I would be happy if I was in a financial position where I and those I love would never have to do without anything we needed.  My dream has always been to write a best seller and be known for that.  When that happens, then I will be winning.

Anyway, in all of my recent viewings of Charlie’s chattering I have to say my favorite quote is “People misinterpret my passion for anger”. Oh come on, who hasn’t felt that way?

Have a great Saturday night everyone & be as obnoxious as you can afford to be

I like to think if I had that kind of money I’d follow my dream – the one that nags me every time I go into the office to work. The frustration at doing something that doesn’t feed the passion just annoys me – though I try not to let it get to me too much.

I’m already kind of obnoxious in a way, so I see no change there. Mine’s kind of a friendly obnoxious though – if that’s even possible. Gentle, poking as much fun at others as myself. Having more money wouldn’t change that.

Interesting, interesting blog Susan. 🙂

I just think it’s so easy to say what we would or wouldn’t do if we were an over paid celebrity treated like American royalty. That’s why I don’t even want to live that dream. I’d be happy with a small fortune, enough to live comfortably for the rest of my life and be able to offer that to my loved ones. Of course I want to get out of working for the man, who doesn’t? I’m already kind of obnoxious myself and that can be a high if you let it 🙂

good to hear from you again. ever since charlie got involved with the 9/11 truth movement, it seems the media has played up the “batshiat crazy” aspect of his life. then again, he is the star of the highest rated show on tv today. would we even hear about this if he was on a low rated show on upn.

Definitely a point to ponder, Unc! That was something I wanted to point out, though clearly he has gone off the deep end it is convenient in damming that truth movement he was a keen supporter of.

Well, he has certainly gone off the deep end, and there are many folks to blame. However, this should not be the headline news everywhere, it is not important if he goes wacky, when there is so much else going on in the world.

You made it 🙂 I don’t understand how entertainment news got muddled into mainstream media news and took it over completely, but it’s been that way for a long time now…5-10 years at the least. It’s like I can feel the wool being pulled over my eyes yet…I can’t do anything about it and I can’t help but partake. It’s like watching a trainwreck to distract me from watching a bigger, more important disaster.

The bottom line is, by his antics, a hit show was canceled…so Angus and Jon Cryer are put out of work. But hold on, not only they and the other cast members were put out of work, but the lighting people, script writers, the agents, the film cutters, the editors, the camera people, the caterers, etc…do you understand how his selfishness caused so many people to lose their paychecks and their livelihoods. This was a HIT show….no one believes a hit should can be canceled. It is extremely disgraceful to Sheen and shows the contempt toward his cast.

Absolutely true, Michael and something not really mentioned among all this media. I’ve thought about this and wondered how these guys will find another gig even half as great as that show. I never watched the show, but I know it was extremely popular and profitable. It is also absolutely true that Sheen is beyond selfish in his actions. I want to make clear that I am in no way condoning his behavior in this blog… I’m not at all. It is ridiculous and very selfish among other great descriptions I could use here, but the points I am trying to make are just about judgment and the media. Who are we to judge and why are we allowing the media to prioritize what is important for us to be aware of? I’m not saying I’m above it… just like everyone, it’s like being distracted to watch a trainwreck while even bigger disasters are going on that we aren’t watching. Make sense?

All iIcan think of to say is Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan 4-eva! These 2 were made for each other. Plus, hopefully if the two of them hook up, Charlie’s Goddesses may need a place to crash. I have room. LOL
Great blog Susan.

LOL. Lindsey may be in similar condition, but she is spawned from a whole other demon… the one they call “Disney”. Ever hear of it? LOL

I think the fascination with famous people’s crashing and burning has been going on ever since someone decided that someone else was famous. Charlie is embracing the command: “It’s better to burn out than to fade away!”

Perhaps it is a marketing ploy–if Charlie came out with an energy drink called “Charlie Sheen’s Tiger Blood” it would probably sell like crazy!

And yes, it is definitely distracting from our world’s most pressing problems.
Someday our society will ignore this kind of stuff–but that won’t be a good day, because that will be the day that our country is on fire.

Ouch to your closing statement…because it’s so true! I watched a special last night on how Charlie is already marketing his madness… T-Shirts with his face and “winning” across the bottom are flying off the (cyber) shelves and he is getting paid for them. I have to admit, I never was a major fan… he’s done a few good movies, but I never watched him on tv however I’d buy that shirt for shits & giggles, why not? I think his madness is brilliance misunderstood 🙂 Good to see you Abe, and so sorry I’ve been MIA for what feels like forever. Trying to get back in the saddle. Are you on Facebook?

Dear Suzrocks, you have covered a lot of territory and I think it is all correct. We have gone from one superstar to another, Lindsey Lohan to Charlie Sheen. More importantly, to me is, why is this news. The world is blowing up right in our faces and we should take some responsibility for our part in setting the stage. Our country is blowing up. These may be the most fractured time in American history. Our schools are falling apart. There was a poll, recently, in So. Carolina, that asked what was wrong with their schools. The overwhelming answer was the Unions. THERE ARE NO UNIONS IN SOUTH CAROLINA. And so it goes. Peace, howie

And that is precisely the point I’m trying to make here, Howie! Can I get an AMEN? XOXO

Definitely not Hank. Though, I have experienced that here before with other people I am subscribed to even though I am a member here. Well, any time I post something worthwhile I’ll cue you in. Speaking of which, I need to go back to your blog & see if I can comment today…lol

Everybody is tag happy it seems. i would just rather drop it off at yer place…hmmm, maybe it’s just the paper boy coming out in me ha!

I’m not into tagging either. It makes for a whole lot of unnecessary notifications. I hear ya! Glad it’s fixed. I’ll keep you posted 🙂

I didn’t get notified of this either. I just happened to see if you’d written lately 🙂 Look at Charlie now, he not only has the t-shirts among other merchandise, he is going on ‘tour’. I heard if his shows sell out (and they will) he will make around 7 million dollars. So…is he crazy or is he manipulating the media and his many followers???

My comment didn’t reply, look down 🙂

That’s what I’m saying, Suzie. He’s making money and he’s not a fool even if he is off his rocker. That’s one of the 2 points I was conveying here. The other is how the media continues to blind us with bullshit news v/s real news 🙂
